Sources and licence
Where every figure comes from, the licence of the course text and how to reuse it.
Poland, read from the data. This free course reads Poland on an interactive map and in charts, one chapter at a time. Every number names its public source and the year it describes. It is neutral: it reports what the institutions that publish the data say, including what is still hard.
What you will learn
Nine chapters follow the map:
- Energy: gas storage, rooftop solar, coal and wind, food exports.
- Prosperity: income per person, the size of the economy, growth, consumption, poverty.
- Security: defence spending, the eastern flank, shipyards, how safe people feel.
- Made in Poland: parcel lockers, buses, games, AI and science in orbit; jobs.
- Daily life: a digital ID, a tax return and a payment on a phone.
- Mobility: roads, railways, airports, ports and trips abroad.
- Health: life expectancy, road deaths and air quality.
- People: life satisfaction and how people spend their time.
- The unfinished work: what is still hard, next to what is moving.
There is no chapter on education: the data behind the map has none.
How the course works
- Explore. The map stays behind the lesson; each step shows its figures in a panel, and every chart has a text version.
- Read. A short text explains how to read the numbers: what a share, a rate, an estimate or a survey answer can and cannot tell you.
- Practise. Cards, tables, a timeline or a practice activity, and a quiz in each chapter. A final test of 12 questions closes the course.
What you get
The course is free, open to everyone and comes with a certificate when you pass the final test. It is also available in Polish, as "Polska w liczbach". The course text is licensed under CC BY 4.0; the last lesson lists every source.
